Heterosis is an art project comprising a collection of breedable digital flowers and a unique public metaverse space.
Based on the innovative technology of animated dynamic NFTs, the artwork invites collectors to participate in a venturous game and simultaneously question the fundamentals of the crypto space as a whole. Heterosis could not exist in any context other than blockchain, with its multiple participants bringing the artwork to fruition.

How to Purchase
LIOM NFTs come in ten different shapes. Among them, are seven simple forms: the circle, star, triangle, trifold, square, diamond, and cross. In rare cases, some LIOM NFTs can evolve over time into one of the three complex shapes – the double circle, double triangle or double square. The form of the NFT that a collector receives is a game of luck, generated entirely at random. However, Pace collectors do have the special opportunity to purchase a set of all seven different simple shaped NFTs. There are only seven of these complete sets available, sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t delay!

Heterosis tokens are 3D animated flowers that breed with each other and evolve after they are minted. Each flower has a unique DNA or genetic code and can be hybridized by any other flower in the collection.
When the flowers are bred by their collectors, an updated hybrid flower blossoms, adopting attributes from both parent flowers.

Collectors are invited to become breeders or collaborative artists, creating new species and increasingly exotic and elaborate blooms, either for their own pleasure or to sell on.
All the flowers will be visible in their current iteration in a mesmerizing, constantly-updating metaverse public space.

A slightly more satirical interpretation of the Heterosis project is through its association with the phenomenon of tulip mania, which took place in 17th century Holland when speculation drove the price of tulip bulbs to extremes. It was one of the most famous market bubbles and crashes of all time.

Who we are
Collishaw is a key figure in the generation of British artists who emerged from Goldsmiths’ College in the late 1980s. He participated in the Freeze group show organised by Damien Hirst in 1988 that launched the Young British Artists, and since his first solo exhibition in 1990 has exhibited internationally.

Krivoruchko is a Ukrainian-born, New York-based multidisciplinary digital artist and art director whose clients include names like Apple, Nike, Intel, and Boeing. Krivoruchko’s work has won a variety of festival awards and he was nominated for a 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Design as part of the creative team for the television series Foundation. He is a co-creator of several Snark.art NFT collections, including Life in Our Minds and OG:Crystal projects.
